Another New Year, a lot of New Year Resolutions and a lot of plans to grow your business.
One of my goals for this year (that I had set at the beginning of the year) was to write better content with more valuable information. I partially succeeded in doing that and write some good posts on content marketing tips, which got decent attention as well but overall, most of the year was a washout in terms of my goals. Except for a few, pretty much every other goal was a miss.
Marketing my content is an area that I need to work seriously on. Social media was another area where the focus drifted in the mid of the year.
I had started podcasting in March of 2015 and was on track with my plan of publishing one podcast every week. But somehow, things lost steam in January of 2016.
Reasons could be many, including focusing on a lot of projects at a time. But, I would call all of them as excuses and I could have done better.
I am targeting at least 2 episodes per week for this year and I will ensure that I am living upto it.
But from an overall business standpoint, the last year was not that bad. I was able to grow my revenue and was able to achieve lot many other goals that I had set for my business.
Nevertheless, it is time to move on and plan for 2017.
I am sure you too would have set your business goals for the year and would be ready to go. To help you with your business plans, I have put together a list of my best posts and podcast episodes on content marketing tips from the last year. I hope you enjoy these.
The Best Posts on Blogging and Content Marketing Tips from 2016
I have arranged these posts based on the month it was published starting from January 2016.

Mobile phones have taken over the digital world and everybody is adapting to this change. Smart Insights in their post on mobile marketing statistics says that “Mobile media time is greater than Desktop and other media”. And this increased mobile media time is what has made Youtube and Facebook change a lot of rules to suit the mobile phone user. Why stop at these two? Google was clear in emphasizing the importance of mobile friendliness in search engine rankings, when it released this update on April 21st, 2015.
There are a lot of times when at the end of the day, I look back at how the day went and feel upset at the fact that I couldn’t accomplish anything worthwhile in the entire day.
How many times has this happened to you?

How much money did you make on Instagram, in the last month?
I know that is a slightly tricky question to ask and if you are anything like me, then the answer would be – “ZERO”.
But with the growing popularity of Instagram (check out some of these Instagram statistics at expanded ramblings), if you are not using it then you are leaving a lot of money on the table.
Instagram is still an unsolved puzzle for quite a lot of people. The fact that this is a phone only app make it even worse and if you are not a mobile phone whiz, then Instagram is going to be the most difficult thing you would have ever dealt with.
What’s Your Biggest reason to HATE Instagram, if at all you are?
I seem to have started loving this picture sharing social media site. If you had asked me the above question about 6 months back, I would have had at least 12 different reasons for hating Instagram.
And most of the reasons would have been around the flexibility to use the tool, the usability, lack of automation, dearth of content to post etc. I am sure, your reason for hating them would also be something similar to these.
Social ads are a good place to start. That’s because social media generally has already assembled a group of people with similar interests. Facebook’s Lookalike Audience in particular can be based on a variety of sources, including your custom email list and your website visitors. Luckily, Facebook makes it easy, with simple steps to create audiences and manage locations, too.
