COVID-19 – Blogging during the Pandemic and What’s in store for the future

blogging during covid 19

I got a forwarded quote a couple of days back –

Humans were planning to go to Mars in 2020 but today they find themselves unable to even move out of their homes

Now, that quote says a lot about our status today. Just like most of the world, India too is in a lockdown as I write this post.

People are confined to their homes and unable to move outside. Most essential things are delivered to their homes.

When I say “most”, it doesn’t mean “ALL”. It means only those things just as is necessary for a relatively “OKAY” day to day life.

So luxuries are no more available. In fact even vegetables have become a luxury for a lot of us.

All of those technological advancements are nothing today. If your laptop or, mobile phone develops a snag or, stops working for some reason, then that’s the end of it.

With about 2 million of the world’s population testing positive for the Corona Virus and about 125,000 deaths already as I write this post, we are at a stage where we need to seriously think if all of our medical research is enough for us human beings, to call ourselves “Invincibles”.

But then, this probably is a way for nature to tell us that we aren’t really as powerful as we think.

The Post COVID-19 World

With the world still in the middle of the pandemic with no real solution in sight, we don’t really know how the post-COVID-19 world will look like.

But one thing is for sure. We are looking at an economic situation and an unprecedented one.

While I am not somebody who likes fear-mongering or, sounding like a pessimist, it is important that we realize that we are indeed looking at a bad economic situation.

The world will have to rebuild itself, brick by brick.

With corporations shut down, manufacturing coming to a stand still and workforce either taking pay-cuts or, being laid off, the rebuilding is going to be a herculean task even for the most solid economies in the world.

But, we will rebuild for sure, given the kind of species that mankind is.

And as we rebuild, only the strongest and the persistent will survive to help in the process and to witness it.

The post COVID-19 world is going to be different. Much different from what it is today and a better one, I think.

So, while we are passing through this pandemic, it becomes important for us to ensure that we are surviving.

And we also need to ensure that we are persistent.

Surviving and Being Persistent – Blogging

It is about 4 months that I published the last blog post.

There were a multitude of reasons why things got stuck and I couldn’t continue with my blog and with the pressure of the initial setup of a startup; You tend to lose your focus.

But then that’s part of the game.

And now, this entire COVID-19 thing. I am locked down in a distant home, far away from my own home. But thankfully I carried my laptop, though I wish I could have carried a few more things like my storage devices and microphones.

I hadn’t even touched my blog or, my social media account for some time now. I hadn’t created any videos for almost an year now.

But surprisingly, the benefits of all the efforts that I had put in all these years still continued.

Wondering what?

The affiliate marketing business and the income from it.

Yes. That’s right. I have been seeing a consistent flow of income from all of those affiliate marketing assets that I had built over the years. (Though “consistent” might not be the right word to use here because there obviously is a fluctuation the amount every month. But the flow is consistent.)

And that’s what kicked me and woke me up, out of my depressing dreams on my bed.

What better way of being persistent than blogging and building a few more affiliate sites?

So, that’s where I stand.

This entire pandemic, the lockdown and the sensationalizing behavior of the media can all be extremely depressing.

In fact, it has become so depressing that people are having to consult psychiatrists to get over the depression.

But if you are a blogger, then you have a great way of getting over this depression – Your Blog.

If you are a blogger or, an affiliate marketer and for some reason your activity is paused, then this is the best time to start that all over again.

Use this time, when you are stuck at home to write blog posts, create affiliate marketing websites and build alternate income streams for yourself.

There are tons of people who might just be waiting for your help, advice and suggestions. Give them your help and support, your information products and build a brand for yourself.

Start a podcast and let the world hear your voice. Broadcast to the world and let your voice build a brand for you.

What better way to endure, survive and persist.

This, indeed is the time to be persistent.

Start a Blog right away.

Stay home, stay safe.
